Anaesthesia Options for Stress-Free Surgery
Feeling nervous about oral surgery?
Understanding your anaesthesia options can help you feel more at ease.
There are several types commonly used in oral procedures:
- Local anaesthetic: numbs only the area being treated - done right here in the dental chair.
- IV sedation: keeps you deeply relaxed while conscious - also done safely in our rooms.
- General anaesthetic: puts you fully to sleep - often chosen for complex cases, or when patients simply prefer not to be awake.
Your surgeon will help choose the best option based on your needs and preferences.
All anaesthesia methods are closely monitored by trained professionals throughout your procedure.
Recovery usually takes 3 to 5 days.
But if you have IV sedation or general anaesthetic, you won’t be able to drive for 24 hours.
